Is pet insurance worth it?

I recently purchased a 12 week old chihuahua puppy and am curious to know if pet insurance is really needed... Like, does it help money-wise..because it seems expensive.. I know that if theres an accident you can get reimbursed but like vet. bills!! do those get reimbursed??
