Can I take a ambien while on medication with hydrocodone?

I am currently on medication for strep. I am taking tussionex (cough syrup with hydrocodone), antibiotic, z-pack(steroid) and phenagrin for nausea. I am having difficult time going to sleep, toss & turn itching from hydrocodone. I would like to take one of my wifes ambien sleeping pills so that I may go to sleep. I'm afraid of drug interactions or bad side affects or any unforeseen problem from taking to many medications. Does anyone know if it is safe to take an ambien while on the other medications mentioned?
