I need a good storyline for a creative writing piece on the theme of journeys?

Maybe something where a person takes an actual journey that is also an emotional journey. What I mean is like a story where a girl who has been raised in a home for orphans b/c her mother died and her father abandoned her turns 18 and has to leave the orphanage. She gets on a train to go far away to where a friend who'd once lived in the orphanage now lives and works. She has always struggled and been angry at her dad b/c he abandoned her and thinks he didn't love her. She sits by an older man on the train and they get to talking and along the way, she discovers that he is her father and that he had to give her to the orphanage only b/c he was too poor to take care of her. Something like that anyway :)
