Should I consult with a travel agency and should I drive or take other transportation?
In October this year, I wanted to take a trip to my father's home town which is about 250 miles away. It is not a major city (pop. about 4500) and has no major attractions, and not even on a good travel route, so I doubt any travel agencies even book trips there. However, I am not confident about traveling alone being a middle-aged woman with limited driving skills and my car will be 9 years old by then. I really don't feel right about asking anyone I know to go with me since I just want to try to find the house where my dad was born 90 years ago, if it still even exists. I plan to go on one day, see the town the next, then come home. Not more than three days gone, barring unforeseen circumstances. That's a lot to ask someone to do that's not interested in my interest. How should I handle this trip?
